Black Hawaiian Sheep

$1,300.00

Animal Description:

The exact origin of the Black Hawaiian sheep is unknown, but some say it is a cross between Mouflon and black hair sheep from the Hawaiian islands, while others say it is Barbados with a dilution of the red color gene. Black Hawaiian sheep are typically solid black, but may have a white muzzle and reddish wool, especially in the sun. Older sheep may have gray hairs around their eyes and nose.

Black Hawaiian sheep have large, dark horns that curl downward and outward, sometimes growing more than 36 inches long. These sheep are aggressive toward other rams and are often found fighting for dominance and territory and weigh between 100 and 160 pounds and have a shoulder height of 28 to 30 inches.
